Shivani Virani held a preview of the latest works by veteran journalist turned artist Prakash Bal Joshi on Monday evening at Kitab Mahal
Called ‘Subtle Changes’ the collection has spawned out of Joshi’s fascination with the Saraswati river that got lost beneath the ground, thousands of years ago.
Shivani sounded pleased as she lauded the deep thought-process which poses fundamental questions about our existence. “I’m happy to showcase such work and that too for a noble cause; since the proceeds from the sale will go to the JJ Hospital trust for victims of 26/11.” The exhibition was inaugurated by Nawaz Modi Singhania, Shivani’s childhood friend who remarked to have been “awestruck by the potent yet unusual use of colours to form meaningful modernistic paintings”.
Other guests who graced the occasion included Manoj Bajpai, who takes keen interest in modern art and loved the way the subject has been handled by Joshi; his wife Shabana (looking cute in a yellow outfit and a short bob); Madhusudan Kumar who chatted with artist Shalini Kapoor; Amisha Mehta and political heavyweight Narendra Varma.
